Roberta's

Roberta's is a well-known pizza restaurant in Bushwick. Even the ones that don't know where Bushwick is, they know Roberta's. We recently discovered that Roberta's has brunch menu. A place where brunch is hard to come by, it's a good option.

Momo Sushi Shack

Our new neighborhood, Bushwick, Brooklyn, is a "food wasteland." But more restaurants are opening (not as fast as I would like) and Momo Sushi Shack opened recently on Bogart.

It's not a normal sushi restaurant, so don't expect a big menu, but it's definitely a nice change. Plus it's around the corner from Roberta's. So while you are waiting for a spot at Roberta's, you can grab a bite here.

Joya Dorado Restaurant

You know... I am not the adventurous one in my household, Chris is. He's been venturing out to find restaurants and grocery markets in our new neighborhood, Bushwick, Brooklyn. Considering I was in Italy for 2 weeks, I am still new to the neighborhood, but Chris knows his way around this neighborhood already. He went out by himself today and tried chicken soup at Joya Dorado. He said it was good and was only $3. Can't complain about this price!

Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos

We saw Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos on TV while back. One of Chris's favorite cuisines is Mexican and he has been complaining about a lack of real Mexican restaurants in New York. So when we heard about Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos, we were very excited.

When we finally visited Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos, it didn't disappoint.
Tacos were huge and they were $2 each.

We didn't talk very much because we were busy eating. Eating a taco and half made me very full. A lot of gringos know about this place now, so be prepared to wait for a seat.

No Reservations

Those of you know Chris and myself well enough know that there is nothing more we love than traveling. When we have a few days off, you know we are off to another country.

So, you know it's hard for me to say that you don't have to leave the country to have good food. But I will say it. "You don't have to leave the country to have good food," because it's all here.

So there... I said it. You don't have any excuse not to try these restaurants, because it's only a few subway stops away. What are you waiting for? I am making my list!!!

Gen

We have been looking for an apartment in Brooklyn for a while now; therefore we have been spending a lot of time in Brooklyn. Poor Christina has been putting up with us almost every weekend. She took us to this lovely Japanese restaurant in her neighborhood and we fell in love.
Yes, food is made by Japanese people. I need to emphasize that point!!! You already know about my obsession and anger in that matter.

We had brunch (dinner is amazing as well) and menu was very impressive.
Zaru soba wasn't even on the brunch menu, but they accommodated Chris.
If you live in the neighborhood or nearby, I highly recommend it!!!

If weather is nice, check out their charming semi-outdoor area.
