This place is for someone who's from Japan or for someone who's been to Japan. The taste of takoyaki, yaki soba, or okonominaki brings you right back to the street of Tokyo.

Combination of Tokoyaki & Yakisoba at USD8. They only have a bench outside, so be prepared to eat it on their trash can (as seen above) or on the curb. If you are thinking of taking it home... don't do it. Takoyaki is not good unless it's eaten right after it's made.

Thank you for turning me on to takoyaki! Since you introduced it to me, I've been sneaking off to Otafuku about once every two weeks. Josephine will love the taste of it, because I had so much while pregnant and nursing. One day I was having some out front when an elderly Japanese lady and her daughter strolled by. I made space for them on the bench and the old lady, through her daughter, asked me if I enjoyed takoyaki. I said yes, of course, and she giggled and said, "well, of course you do! they put so much STUFF on it here in America. All these fish flakes and mayo, that's all new school." Turns out she hadn't had any takoyaki in tens of years, and her eyes lit up when her daughter broughter her the tray, and she thorougly enjoyed her new-found American food.
That was a silly story but it was actually quite touching in real life.
